Editorial Policy

My Editorial Approach

Hi, I’m Maya, the traveler and storyteller behind Isle Passport.
Every guide you’ll find here is based on real travel experiences, not stock photos or generic listicles. My goal is to create honest, experience-driven resources that help readers plan smarter, travel slower, and discover authentic island and coastal destinations around the world.

When I write about a destination—whether it’s a quiet fishing village in Spain or a tropical escape in Costa Rica—I’ve either been there myself or built the itinerary through in-depth, verified research from local sources, ferry operators, and official tourism data.

Accuracy, Research & Independence

I take accuracy seriously. Each article on Isle Passport is:

  • Fact-checked using up-to-date information from official transport websites, accommodation providers, and local tourism boards.
  • Updated regularly to reflect new ferry routes, seasonal changes, and travel regulations.
  • Reviewed manually—I don’t use AI-generated content to create or rewrite articles.

Isle Passport is an independent publication. I do not accept paid placements or gifts that influence what I recommend. If I ever work with a travel brand, collaboration, or tourism board, it will be clearly disclosed within the article.

Affiliate Links & Monetization

Some posts include affiliate links to trusted partners such as accommodation booking platforms, tours, or gear I personally use.
If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may earn a small commission—at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate income helps support the maintenance and research that goes into keeping Isle Passport ad-free and high-quality.
However, no article is written for the purpose of promoting a product—recommendations are based solely on genuine experience and value.

Corrections & Updates

Travel information changes quickly—ferry schedules, opening hours, and entry rules can shift from season to season.
If you notice something outdated or inaccurate, please contact me directly so I can review and update it promptly.
